Two Choices for Life
You have two choices. These are the two choices of how you can choose to live life.
#1 You choose to hate many people, hate yourself, always addicted to being miserable, don't forgive, hold onto grudges until you die, worry about everything endlessly, afraid of everything and everyone, doubting everything, overthinking everything, paranoid, blaming everyone, complaining about everything, regretting every day, never changing, thinking life is cursed and hopeless. You choose to reject help and refuse to get help. You choose to reject taking action to change yourself for the better. You make everyone in your life including yourself miserable.
If you want people to care about you, accept you, and love you, you have to do the same for them. A relationship or bond is between at least two people. Two people need to help each other. It is a give-and-take from both sides. That is a healthy, successful relationship of any kind.
If you want people to care about you, accept you, and love you, you have to change yourself for the better. If you are cancer and poison to other people's lives, you always make everyone miserable, and you are addicted to being miserable and hopeless. This is what will happen. The people who love you will cut you off, abandon you, and refuse to do anything with you.
If you want to be happy, you have to quit the addiction of being miserable. Stop using the metaphorical drugs. Stop using misery.
If you continue to be addicted to being miserable, everyone will cut you off and abandon you.
The truth will set you free.
The reality is you can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves or get help. You can't change anyone who doesn't want to change. You can't change people who love their addiction more than the people who love them and themselves.
#2 You choose to change yourself for the better. You do something that makes you happy or something important every day. When you are worried, afraid, hating people, suffering, miserable, you refocus on something else. You refocus your attention from the negative things to the positive or helpful things. You could enjoy a nice cup of coffee, lemonade, soda, or just a nice refreshing cup of water.
You can't keep feeding the addiction. You can't keep using the negative things that are killing you. You can't keep doing negative things and thinking it will make you better. It really is like drugs, or more accurately, poison. You drink or inject poison into your body, you think it will make you feel better, but it hurts you, ruins your life, and kills you.
You ask your family and friends directly and honestly, "How can I be a better family member? How can I be a better friend? How can I make you happy? How can I make myself happy? Do you want to spend time together? Do you want to get food? Do you want to talk about fun, happy things? How are you? Can we talk?"
Your family and friends or other people. They could have done things that hurt you severely. But try to understand them. Try to forgive them. It doesn't make it right. It doesn't excuse them. It doesn't change the past. But you can give yourself peace now.
Listen to music. Watch movies and TV shows. Watch entertaining, feel-good, heartwarming movies and TV shows about family and things like that. For example, Frasier.
Watch entertaining videos on YouTube that make you happy. Don't watch videos on YouTube that make you worry, afraid, miserable, or provoke anything bad. Just watch stuff on YouTube that entertains you and puts you in a good mood.
Watch cute animal videos or look at photos of cute animals.
Play video games you like.
Read good books.
If you have severe mental illness, read many books and articles about the mental illness and how you can heal and recover. Read carefully and look for how you can improve.
Go outside. Walk outside. Get sunlight. Get fresh air. Be with nature. It's good to go to the park. It's good to be near trees and flowers.
Play a sport. Or watch sports.
Read good quotes. Good, insightful quotes helped me greatly in my life. Many of them were only one sentence, but they gave me mental clarity, they gave me a perspective I never considered, they gave me wisdom.
Change is a choice.
Only you can change your life.
No one will do it for you.
Superman is not coming to save you.
Change is a decision you make for yourself.
You don't wait for the perfect moment to change.
The perfect moment to change doesn't exist.
The perfect moment to change is right now, in the present moment in reality.
If you want everyone to cut you off and abandon you, if you want to be lonely, continue to destroy yourself. Live and die in misery. Kill yourself every day slowly with misery.
If you want people to care about you, accept you, love you, and help you, you have to change yourself.
I hope at least one person reads this blog post and finally decides to change themselves for the better.
July 10, 2026 I decided to finally change myself for the better.
